LANCIA · LANCIA BETA · Cars
As of 2025 Q4, 493 LANCIA BETAs remain registered in the UK — a genuinely rare sight on today's roads. Numbers are at their highest recorded level since the model first appeared in our data in 2014 Q3. Unusually, the numbers are actually rising — up 18 (3.8%) over the past year, as imports and barn-finds rejoin the register faster than cars leave it. Tellingly, 55% are declared SORN — kept off the road in garages and barns rather than driven, the signature of a car being looked after rather than used up.
Rare — fewer than 1,000 remain (493 in the latest data).
Rarer than 43% of the 2,408 UK car models we track.
The Lancia Beta (Type 828), stylised Lancia β, was an entry-level luxury car produced by Italian car manufacturer Lancia from 1972 to 1984. It was the first new model introduced by Lancia after it had been taken over by Fiat in 1969. The Beta was made in several body styles, namely 4-door fastback saloon (Beta berlina), 4-door three-box, notchback saloon (Beta Trevi), 2-door coupé (Beta Coupé), 2-door targa (Beta Spider), 3-door estate (Beta HPE); a mid-engined sports car was also sold under the Beta name, the Lancia Beta Montecarlo.
As of 2025 Q4, 493 LANCIA BETA were still registered in the UK — 220 licensed and on the road, plus 273 declared SORN (off-road). The figures come from official DVLA vehicle licensing data.
The LANCIA BETA is rare — fewer than 1,000 remain (493), making it rarer than 43% of the 2,408 UK car models we track.
Over the last year the number of LANCIA BETA on UK roads rose by 18 (3.8%).
Most LANCIA BETA run on petrol — about 100% of those still registered, with the rest split across gas (lpg).
The LANCIA BETA peaked at 493 registered in 2025 Q4, and was first recorded in the data in 2014 Q3.
