As of 2025 Q4, 241 TVR TASMINs remain registered in the UK — a genuinely rare sight on today's roads. That's down from a peak of 251 in 2020 Q3 — only 96% of the high-water mark, a loss of about 10 cars. Unusually, the numbers are actually rising — up 2 (0.8%) over the past year, as imports and barn-finds rejoin the register faster than cars leave it. Tellingly, 71% are declared SORN — kept off the road in garages and barns rather than driven, the signature of a car being looked after rather than used up. In all, the TVR TASMIN is rarer than 50% of the 2,408 UK car models we track.

The TVR Tasmin (later known as the TVR 280i) is a sports car designed by Oliver Winterbottom (coach) and Ian Jones (chassis) for TVR and built in the United Kingdom by that company from 1980 to 1987. It was the first of TVR's "Wedge"-series which formed the basis of its 1980s model range. The Tasmin/280i was available as a 2-seater coupé, as a 2+2 coupé and as a 2-seater convertible.
