MITSUBISHI · MITSUBISHI STARION · Cars
As of 2025 Q4, 180 MITSUBISHI STARIONs remain registered in the UK — a genuinely rare sight on today's roads. Numbers are at their highest recorded level since the model first appeared in our data in 2014 Q3. Unusually, the numbers are actually rising — up 4 (2.3%) over the past year, as imports and barn-finds rejoin the register faster than cars leave it. Tellingly, 93% are declared SORN — kept off the road in garages and barns rather than driven, the signature of a car being looked after rather than used up. In all, the MITSUBISHI STARION is rarer than 53% of the 2,408 UK car models we track.

The Mitsubishi Starion is a sports car which was manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi from 1982 until 1989 — with badge engineered variants marketed in North America as the Conquest, under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth brands. It is a two-door coupé with a fastback design and seating for four passengers. The Starion's straight-four engine is mounted in the front and drives the rear wheels, with some models being turbocharged. The Starion was one of the first modern Japanese turbocharged performance automobiles with electronic fuel injection.
