DATSUN LAUREL Ultra-rare

As of 2025 Q4, 55 DATSUN LAURELs remain registered in the UK — one of the rarest cars in Britain on today's roads. That's down from a peak of 57 in 2023 Q4 — only 96% of the high-water mark, a loss of about 2 cars. They're disappearing at roughly 1 a year (1.2% of what's left), a pace that would halve the survivors by around 2081 if it held — though in practice the last, most-cherished examples tend to linger far longer. Tellingly, 60% are declared SORN — kept off the road in garages and barns rather than driven, the signature of a car being looked after rather than used up. In all, the DATSUN LAUREL is rarer than 65% of the 2,408 UK car models we track, putting it firmly in 2025's endangered class.

In North America, the later models were known as the Nissan Sentra; in Mexico, the Sunny is known as the Nissan Tsuru, which is Japanese for the bird species "crane".
